• The company participated in the Energyear Chile conference, which addressed the country’s progress in renewable energy and the main challenges involved in achieving a safe, competitive, and customer-focused energy transition.

As part of a new edition of Energyear Chile, one of the energy sector’s leading events, Joan Leal, CEO of EDF Power Solutions Chile, joined several other leaders on a panel discussion addressing the current state of the energy sector and its upcoming challenges.

The panelists agreed that the energy transition has been a success and that Chile has established itself as an international leader in the implementation of renewable technologies and the development of energy storage capacity.

Joan Leal noted that EDF power solutions considers it essential for the energy transition to focus on the end customer, ensuring that the goal is to provide access to efficient, safe, and competitive solutions. In this context, he described advancing the decarbonization process in a sustainable manner as a priority, while ensuring the safe operation of the national power grid. He also highlighted the importance of the market sending the right signals to incentivize electrification, not only in energy-intensive sectors such as transportation, industry, and mining, but also in the residential sector.

Finally, participants appreciated the opportunity for dialogue provided by Energyear to exchange views on the future of the energy sector, particularly as a new administration begins its term in office, which presents an opportunity to strengthen public-private partnerships and continue driving the energy transition in Chile.
