Following its successful participation in the 2023 and 2024 editions, this year the EDF Group once again took part in Hyvolution Paris, the world's most important event for the green hydrogen industry, with the aim of sharing its vision for the development of the green hydrogen industry both in Chile and globally.
The international fair, organized by GL Events, brought together around 550 exhibitors from 30 countries and more than 11,000 visitors. Key issues for the industry were addressed, such as the level of market maturity, the level of project development, new technologies, key applications, and pending challenges in certification and standards, among others.
Juan Camus, Project Director of EDF in Chile, participated in a panel alongside Marcos Kulka, Executive Director of H2Chile, where they discussed the current situation of the industry in Chile, as well as the barriers to overcometo accelerate its development. Among the priorities mentioned were shortening the time required to obtain permits and the need for territorial planning and the development of enabling infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Francisco Peralta, Corporate Affairs Manager for the EDF Group in Chile, participated on behalf of H2V Magallanes in a Franco-Chilean institutional meeting, an event attended by various French authorities, Chile's Undersecretary of Energy, Luis Felipe Ramos, and Chile's ambassador to France, Raúl Fernández.
On this occasion, Francisco Peralta highlighted the public-private approach with which the industry is developing in the Magallanes region, citing as examples CORFO's initiative to implement a technology center to provide infrastructure, technological capabilities, and human capital to promote the sustainable development of the industry, and the efforts being made by companies to share critical infrastructure.
“Green hydrogen is a key energy vector for advancing the energy transition, and Chile has the potential to become a global leader in this emerging market. Taking advantage of this opportunity requires close public-private collaboration to make timely progress on all fronts required for this industry tobecome a realityy,” said Peralta.
