For the second consecutive year, EDF power solutions had a prominent participation in Hyvolution Chile, the most important hydrogen event of the year. Its CEO, Joan Leal, attended the official inauguration and was one of the panelists in “Green Hydrogen Project Portfolio,” moderated by H2 Chile’s Executive Director, Marcos Kulka. In the panel, leaders of the main projects under development reviewed the industry’s current status and exchanged views on how to drive value creation and competitiveness in the country.
EDF power solutions also played a leading role in the France Pavilion, which brought together French companies spearheading the development of this emerging industry in Chile. A highlight was the closing ceremony of the Train the Trainers program, driven by the French Embassy, the Institut Français, and the Ministries of Energy and Education. Supported by EDF power solutions, the program enabled a group of teachers from Magallanes to travel to France for training in green hydrogen and to better understand the French vocational training system. The ceremony was led by Chile’s Minister of Energy, Diego Pardow, and the French Ambassador to Chile, Cyrille Rogeau.
As part of Hyvolution Chile, the French-Chilean Chamber of Commerce (CCI FC) hosted the France Night at Maison de France, a public-private gathering where authorities, companies, and energy sector leaders came together to discuss strategic issues for the green hydrogen industry. The event featured several thematic sessions moderated by Francisco Peralta, Corporate Affairs Manager of EDF power solutions Chile and President of the CCI FC’s Sustainable Development Club. Joan Leal participated in the first session along with Clara Bowman, COO of HIF Global, where they discussed the current outlook and prospects of the industry. “At EDF power solutions we see green hydrogen as a key pillar for the global energy transition, and we continue to believe that Chile has the conditions to become a leader in this emerging industry,” he stated.
Paul Miquel, President of the CCI FC, highlighted the leadership of France and French companies in the country’s energy transition in general, and in the development of the green hydrogen industry in particular, noting that there is a spirit of collaboration and a natural complementarity between both countries. Chile provides extraordinary renewable resources and state policies to support the industry, while France contributes technology, financing, and expertise in the development of complex industrial projects.
